Is the Curt Roof Mounted Cargo Basket Waterproof

Question:

Were leaving on a 4000 mile road trip in the middle of this February, and we want to know if this cargo bag will be able to tolerate exceedingly cold temperatures with frost, ice, severe rain storms, etc and still keep our luggage dry? Or should we be bagging everything up first before placing into the cargo bag? We will driving up to 600 miles a day. We just bought the Curt basket today WITHOUT the extention piece . We are using the cargo bag for down sleeping bags, pillows, wool blankets, and our clothing. Thanks in advance for giving us an honest answer and sparing us any future grief. We need reliability. Cheers!

Never fear, the Curt Cargo Bag for Roof Baskets # C18220 is waterproof, well constructed and will stand up to the elements on your extended road trip. When you pair it with a cargo basket like the Curt # C18115 to keep the base of the bag off the roof, this bag is the perfect solution to keep your gear dry for the length of your road trip- the only thing it won't do is keep your sleeping bags warm!
