How To Install the Furrion Vision S Wireless RV Backup Camera System By Replacing Clearance Light

Question:

Back in September I asked a question about this camera and in the answer was given an additional video link to refer too. The video was not the one in the general description. The additional video I am referring to was titled: Furrion RV Observation System Review-Video. It showed the use of the monitor but more importantly showed a tech installing this camera on a travel trailer. The center clearance light was removed and the camera located in its place. This was really helpful as I do not have a prewired set up. Im ready to order the camera now and would like to review that video again before purchase and installation. Your video link page doesnt have a camera category so Ive had no luck finding it. Any chance it is still available for viewing? Much appreciated.

In order to install the Furrion Vision S Wireless RV Backup Camera System part # FOS43TASF or part # FOS05TASF you can indeed use an unwanted clearance light so long as that light is at the center of the trailer and preferably at the top as well. The clearance light can be removed, usually by prying off the lens with a flat-head screwdriver which would then reveal the mounting screws. Once the mounting screws are removed you simply need to cut the wires. Then, once the wires are cut you can attach the power and ground from the light to the camera. If the light only has one wire then it's for power and you would attach that to the camera and ground the other wire from the camera. Once the wires are attached you can attach the base using the bracket as a template. That's it!

I wish I had the video you were looking for but this is no longer available. That said, the above info when accompanied with the install instructions should be more than enough for you to install the camera system yourself. I have complete confidence in this and you should not fret as there is really not much that can go wrong.

Please note, you may want to check with local state laws when removing or replacing exterior lights on a trailer.
