Could 12 Volt Wire for Trailer Wiring Also be Used to Power Circuit of Curt Echo Brake Controller
Question:
If a have the 119250KIT installed, do I need to connect another power source to my battery for the wireless break connector? Is it ok to have two 12V wires connected to the battery of the car at the same time? Thanks!

Expert Reply:
The power wire of the # 119250KIT would not be rated high enough to carry enough amperage for both the # 119250KIT and the Echo part # C51180. So what you'd want to do is run the wire that comes with the # ETBC7L along the same routing to get the the vehicle battery and you'd be set. This also prevents a short in the trailer wiring from potentially shorting out the brake controller and damaging it since they will be on separate circuits. Having two 12 volt wires ran to your battery would not be an issue at all.
