Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2006 Ford F-150 Super Crew with 5-1/2 Foot Bed
Question:
Will this product work on a 51/2 ft bed? My vehicle is a 2006 F150 supercrew.

A truck with a 5-1/2 foot bed like your 2006 Ford F-150 Supercrew would have to use a standard 5th wheel trailer hitch and a Sidewinder. A Sidewinder replacement pin box moves the pivot point of the trailer back 22 inches whereas a slider only moves it back up to 12 inches.
You would need to use # RP30047, which is the same hitch, only not a slider, as the one you referenced. For an installation kit, you will need # RP50081-58. I have included some video and instruction links for you to check out.
Sidewinders are pin box specific. You will need to find the manufacturer and model number on the pin box to determine if there is one that will fit. I have included a link to our Sidewinder FAQ that will help. There are also some important formulas in the FAQ you will need to determine the maximum width trailer you can tow.
