I just got a small trailer with brakes that I need to tow with my sprinter. from my understanding you cannot tow a trailer with brakes with simply a 4-connector. (I have the 4-pole) Is this correct? What Do i need then They are electric brakes. I just want the easist way to do this because I am going to be towing when We go back and forth from the beach with our sea-doos

You are correct that simply having a 4-pole flat on your 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 is not going to provide a braking signal to the brakes to activate when the Sprinter brakes. You will need a 7-Way plug to tow a trailer with electric brakes along with your 4-Pole connector. The easiest way to do this is to use an upgrade kit part # ETBC7L and the Curt Echo brake controller part # C51180.
The ETBC7L was designed specifically to install the Curt Echo. The only connections that need to be made with the 7-Way plug is the black 12V power and a solid ground connection to the vehicle's frame. The existing 4-Pole flat will plug into the pigtail coming off of the 7-Way plug. The Curt Echo only requires 12V power to activate the trailer brakes because of it's internal sensors. The brake setting can be controlled via smart phone Apple IOS 8.0-newer or Android with an operating system 4.4 or newer. I have attached a couple of videos for your reference.
