Does Brake Controller Install in 2019 Honda Ridgeline Require Fuse Install
Question:
When installing a brake controller on 2019 Ridgeline, Honda talks about adding a 20 amp fuse to a box under the front hood. After reviewing your installation video, nothing was mentioned about adding a fuse. Is the fuse ness are?

Expert Reply:
When we've installed brake controllers like the Prodigy P3 part # 90195 in similar Honda Ridgelines as yours that have the factory 7-way we did not have to also install a fuse into the fuse box. We just simply plugged in the install harness # 3070-P under the dash and in the controller and it was ready to go. See install video that shows this entire process on a 2017 Honda Ridgeline.
You might still check your fuse box to see if it's missing a brake controller power fuse but you should be good. It should be in the secondary fuse box in slot 14.
