0.L and 5.H Error Codes on Tekonsha Primus IQ Brake Controller
Question:
At first it worked great for about 8 miles setting the control setting . Now just get two codes o.L at first and 5.H. . I see what those codes say but still dont understand it and why did it work so well at first.

For reference, the o.L code means that your brake controller is seeing an overload condition during operation and the 5.H code indicates a short on the brake wire.
If you had to do any hard-wiring during the installation of your Tekonsha Primus IQ # TK90160, its quite possible that the initial connections were not sufficient and have since either loosened or have become disconnected; it's less likely, but still possible, that the wires are damaged. I would particularly focus on the blue brake control wire, but pay attention to any wires that could be exposed and touching each-other.
I recommend going back through the installation process and re-connecting all of the wires, making sure that they are connected securely and any exposed wires are covered over with electrical tape or replaced with new wires. You can use # 16-1-1 (sold by the foot) to replace any of this wire.
If you've gone through all of the wiring and you're still getting these error messages, please let me know and I can recommend a few other steps to go through to get your brake controller back functioning again.
