What Amp Breaker Should be Used When Installing Curt Echo Mobile Brake Controller

This brake controller calls for a 30 amp breaker for power but my plug has a 40 amp breaker will that do or do I have to change it to a 30 amp?

You should change your breaker to a 30 amp breaker when installing the Curt Echo Mobile # C51180. 40 amps is good for protecting more than two axles but if you have a tandem axle trailer you'd want the breaker to trip at draws above 30 amps so that it protects the wiring/circuits.

Installation of the Curt #C51180 Echo wireless brake controller calls for the use of a 30 amp breaker that comes with the #ETBC7. This is also the appropriate breaker for the 10 gauge wire used to run power to the 7-way.
