How to Carry E-Bikes with 2019 Chevy Equinox
Question:
I am installing a trailer hitch to my 2019 Equinox, diesel so I can haul a bike rack and two electric bikes. The total weight will be around 2-300 lbs. Is there a suspension assist kit for the Equinox? I use an extension so the weight is out the back a ways so I can get the back open. Thanks

Unfortunately there are no suspension enhancements available for the 2019 Chevy Equinox that would help combat rear end sag on your vehicle while carrying these heavy bikes. I would also add that using a hitch extender like the # HE06 often times reduces the tongue weight capacity of your vehicle by 50%, so you'll want to make sure that you're not overloading the vehicle's capacity when carrying these bikes.
It might be worth looking at removing the batteries of the bikes and storing them in the vehicle to reduce the tongue weight of the load. You also may want to look at a tilting bike rack designed for e-bikes like the Hollywood Racks Sports Rider SE # HLY84FR, which has a capacity of 80-lbs per bike and tilts away from your vehicle to allow you access to the rear hatch of your vehicle. This is a much better solution than using a hitch extender that might otherwise cause some unwanted damage to your vehicle's frame because of overloading.
