Do RV Ladders Use RV Bumper for Support Or Only Attach to Wall and Roof

Question:

Hi- Can the backside of my Trailer support brackets for a ladder or does it need to be supported entirely by the rear bumper?

Most RV ladders are actually supported by the rear wall and not the bumper actually. For example, if you take a look at the picture of the # LA-401 that you referenced you can see that it does not attach to a bumper at all and only the rear wall and roof. On the roof you'll need to find where it's reinforced for a ladder. Typically a quick call to the manufacturer will help figure that out.
