2020 BMW X3 Concealed Trailer Hitch and No-Splice Wiring Recommendation
Question:
I need a hitch and wiring to tow a small trailer with my 2020 BMW X3 but I'm weighing my options whether to go with the dealer or etrailer. What would be your recommendation for a hitch, as hidden as possible and minimally intrusive wiring option? Many thanks.

The trailer hitch I recommend for your vehicle is the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # 76226. This is a Class lll hitch and it has a 2 inch receiver opening. The hitch's crosstube is hidden behind your rear bumper, retaining the factory look of your 2020 BMW X3. I attached a photo for reference.
The trailer wiring harness I recommend is the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness # 119250KIT because it doesn't require any of your vehicle's factory wires to be cut or spliced. It uses sensors that are clamped on top of those wires to sense the current passing through. This means it will in no way affect your warranty, which is one of the scare tactics a lot of dealers use to get you to purchase their products.
I've linked you to a page where you'll find helpful information on how to select the correct ball mount for your application.
