Is Stabilization Strap Needed for Curt Trailer Hitch on 2019 Chevy Bolt EV
Question:
Hi! bit confused I plan on getting the Curt class I hitch for my 2019 Chevy Bolt EV. Have seen a couple different things that say a stabilizer strap is needed also? But don't see anything on product page? What gives? Is it need or what?

A stabilization strap is not required when utilizing the Curt Class I Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11457 on your 2019 Chevy Bolt EV.
For a long time Curt did require the use of additional stabilization straps for their lower rated hitches when using hitch-mounted accessories (bike racks, cargo carriers, etc) to maintain the warranty, but somewhat recently they have eliminated this requirement. This is why you may see questions here and there addressing this, as they are simply older pages that were created when this requirement was still in place.
This Class I hitch is a perfect choice for your Chevy Bolt and it will line right up to existing holes in the frame rails for a simple bolt on (no-drill) installation. I have attached the written installation manual that you can check out as well.
