Weight Distribution and Sway Control Recommendation for 2020 Jayco Jayfeather 28RL

Question:

I have a 2013 chevy silverado 1500 lt extended cab and i am looking to buy a 2020 jayco jayfeather 28rl or jayco white hawk 27rl. I would like advice on which weight distribution hitch with sway control would be the best purchase.

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.

I looked up the weight of the 2020 Jayco Jayfeather 28RL and the White Hawk 27Rl based on its loaded weight capacity you'd most likely be looking at a tongue weight around 900-1,000 lbs. So the best weight distribution and sway control for that would be the Strait Line part # RP66084 which has a tongue weight range of 600-1,200 lbs which would be perfect for that and also has the best sway control design that works to prevent sway before it starts.

For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.
