Best Option for Suspension Enhancement on Lifted 2016 Ford F-150

Question:

Timbren springs on a lifted truck? I have a 2016 F150 xlt that has a lift kit installed. When my empty trailer is on I have approx 7-1/2 to 8 inches between the frame and the axle. How tall are the standard kits? I have seen videos with spacers added but only on 250-350 models. Thanks

While we have great suspension enhancement options for your 2016 Ford F-150, the Timbren systems are not a good fit for lifted vehicles, in particular due to the large 8" of space you have just with an unloaded trailer hooked up (without any weight on the truck there is only supposed to be 1/2" of space from the rubber spring to where it makes contact). Timbrens are a decent set up overall, but there are better kits that provide more benefit at all times.

The best option for your lifted 2016 Ford F-150 is the RoadActive Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit # RAS3611-B (for a 2-wheel drive) or # RAS3611-Y (for a 4-wheel drive but it does not fit Regular Cab models).

This system installs on the leaf spring which is why it works with a truck that has a lift compared to a jounce spring style that needs a certain amount of travel to be effective. The reasons why the RAS is so good is because because it is an active system which works to continually reinforce your original leaf spring suspension. The force normally put on your F-150's current leaf springs - either when towing your trailer or just when making a tight turn - gets transferred to the RAS Enhancement Kit, allowing your leaf springs to work normally.

The RAS Enhancement Kit also helps to keep your F-150 level at all times for better traction and handling because it allows your front wheels to stay completely on the ground instead of being slightly raised as you are towing. Additionally, the RoadActive Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit is an easy install that only requires bolting on and there is zero maintenance whatsoever required. For your F-150 (or any truck, in all honesty), this is the option I highly recommend going with.

I have added a link to a video review for you which of this system which I also recommend taking a look at.
