Determining the Leaf Spring Drop From an Empty Trailer to a Fully Loaded Trailer
Question:
I am building a trailer with the tires under the frame. What is the travel length of the springs from empty to full gross ? I do not want the tires to rub underneath when it is fully loaded! Thanks

The drop that you will experience with the 3-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 2,500-lb Axles, # e66SR, from a trailer at zero load to full load is going to be 1-1/2 inches.
A few things to note with a fully loaded trailer is that you will want at least 3 inches of clearance above your tires and 2 to 2-1/2 inches of clearance from the top of your axle to the bottom of the frame where the leaf spring hangers are welded.
You will also want to get the correct hanger kit for the leaf springs you choose. The hanger kits that will work with the leaf springs you referenced are part # APS5 for single axle or part # APTT5 for tandem axle trailers.
