Are Additional Coolers Needed to Tow With 2019 Honda CR-V
Question:
I've pulled a small ALUMA trailer with first gen Honda CRVs as well as first gen Pilots. I added a trans cooler from yall in my 97 CRV and that worked well. My 08 Pilot got factory coolers and pulls great. hitches and wiring all from E-Trailer. I have a new 2019 CRV and am wondering if this has coolers Trans and Power steering fluid from the factory as the new Pilots do or if these are needed and can be easily added? My trailer seldom exceeds 1000 lbs but I frequently pull at higher speeds in hot weather states like Texas and Oklahoma. Also have a small boat 700 lbs max that I pull a few times a year. Thanks.

Those are good questions and your 2019 Honda CR-V does have coolers already and additional coolers are not needed with the CVT transmission in this vehicle. I took a look at the owner's manual as well and it does address the issue by saying that towing a trailer will require you to change your transmission fluid every 25,000 miles, which is more often than if you were not towing.
Since you do plan on towing, make sure you get the best equipment for your journey, and for your 2019 Honda CR-V that would be the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76128 and T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118741 for a hitch and wiring harness, respectively.
Not only are both of these from manufacturers with strong reputations for making high-quality products, but as a bonus, they are also going to be the easiest of the hitch and wiring harnesses that fit your CR-V to install.
I have added links to videos showing both the Draw-Tite # 76128 and Wiring Harness # 118741 being installed on a 2019 Honda CR-V for you to check out as well.
