Installation of Redarc RED44FR Tow-Pro Brake Controller on 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser
Question:
Greetings- I am looking at this controller. My FJ doesnt have factory towing and has a 4 pin. I installed a 7 pin converter to tow my trailer but not additional wiring. What do I need to install this and are there any FJ specific instructions?

Directions? Pffft! We'll do you one better....How about an install video? Take a look at the link I provided, you can see our technicians installing a different brake controller on a 2013 FJ Cruiser. Even though the model year is different and the particular brake controller you're interested in isn't shown, the procedure would be identical.
You'll need the Redarc Tow-Pro # RED44FR brake controller and the # 5506 brake controller wiring kit. The kit provides the wire, circuit breakers and hardware necessary to complete a successful installation, but you'd also need a quick splice connector # SWC502885-1 to make the connection at the brake stoplight switch.
I've also linked you to step by step instructions.
