Brake Pedal of 2007 Chevrolet Silverado Classic Doesnt Activate Trailer Brake Controller
Question:
My brake pedal is not activating the brake controller. Was doing this with other brake controller. Started after holding brake pedal for extended time while dumping load on hill. Everything else seems okay

There is a usual suspect here. Have a helper step on the brake pedal while you stand at the rear of the truck. Is the third brake lamp working? The Silverado gets its brake signal for the tow package from the third stop lamp circuit. Open the driver's side front door and remove the fuse panel cover on the side of the dash facing the door. Look for the VEH CHMSL fuse (center high mounted stoplamp). If the fuse is blown, replace it and you should be good to go.
Here's something you might not be aware of. If you're using a proportional brake controller, the vehicle's brake pedal won't send any voltage to the trailer brakes unless the vehicle is moving. It sounds as if the vehicle wasn't moving while you were on the hill, and if that's the case then the brake controller is working normally..
