The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.

Since golf carts are typically right at 8 feet in length and your truck bed is 8 feet you will have most likely right at 30 percent of the golf cart's weight as additional tongue weight to factor when picking out weight distribution system. So right at an additional 300 lbs to what you mentioned of 1,165 lbs so right at 1,500 lbs of tongue weight.

For that I'd recommend the Reese Titan system part # RP66006 which has a tongue weight range of 1,000 to 1,700 lbs. Since your 2017 Ford F-250 has a 2-1/2 inch hitch you'd then need a shank like the part # RP54977 which fits this system and your hitch size. For a hitch ball you'd then need the # 19286.

For a similar version of the # RP66006 that does have sway control we have the Strait Line system part # RP66075 that is basically the exact same kit but includes the dual cam sway control which features the best sway control design out there that works to prevent the trailer from swaying before it starts. For a lower rated spring bar we then have the part # RP66009 which is for a tongue weight range of 600-1,200 lbs and fits the same head as the # RP66075.
