Can the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Be Used with Hitch Extender On a 2018 Jeep JK Wrangler
Question:
I see you mention the rack will not work with a Wrangler as the shank is not long enough to clear your spare tire. Although I am planning on mounting this on my motorhome as shown in your video.... I would still like to occasionally use it on my Wrangler to take the bikes to the beach etc. Could I get a extension receiver to make it fit? Thanks in advance.....

Yes, the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE part # HLY84FR can be used with an extender for which I recommend the Curt Hitch Extender part # C45791 but this will reduce the weight capacity of your trailer hitch by 50%. That said, the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE may work on your 2018 Jeep JK Wrangler without an extender depending on tire size and hitch combo.
The Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE requires no more than 7-1/2" from the face of the trailer hitch out to the rear edge of the spare tire. If you don't have this much space you can install the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # DT78MR which has the longer receiver tube available. This would then require that you have no more than 14" from the face of the rear cross member (where the hitch mounts) to the outer edge of the spare tire. If you still don't have enough clearance then the extender can be used just be mindful of the reduced capacity.
