Why Cant the Thule Camber 2 Be Used On a Travel Trailer  

Question:

I have a frame - welded 2inch receiver on the back of my travel trailer. I am now using a Swagman 2 bike carrier, but my new bike has more of a triangular shape Specialized Crosstrail. Why couldnt this product be used on a travel trailer? Thanks

The Thule Camber 2 Bike Rack part # TH9058 would physically fit on your trailer but the issue is that it is not rated for the additional stress that a bike rack has while being used on a trailer which is due to the increased distance from the rear axle to the trailer hitch and the less sophisticated suspension. Instead, you could go with the Yakima LongHaul Bike Rack # Y02476 if you have a 2" hitch or the LetsGoAero NE02 # B01748 if you have a 1-1/4" hitch. Both of these can be used on a travel trailer.

I am not sure which style of bike rack you have but if it is a platform style then you can still use this with an alternative frame bike you just need an adapter bar, the Swagman Deluxe Bike Frame Adapter Bar part # 64005.
