Weight Distribution and Sway Control Recommendation for 2012 Ram

Question:

I have a 32 ft travel trailer I pull with 2012 ram 1500 4x4 Short box 5.7L crew cab. I use weight distribution bars and a sway control older one but still get a lot of back and forth sway from a side wind. Are there new WD and sway bars that control the sway?

Expert Reply:

There are newer styles of sway control that are much more effective and reducing and preventing sway from sidewinds like you described. The best is the Reese Strait Line setups which proactively work to prevent sway before it starts unlike any of the other systems available.

Based on the towing capacity of your 2012 Ram 1500 the best solution is going to be the # RP66084 which has a tongue weight range of 600 to 1,200 lbs like you'd need. This will be noticeably better at preventing sway than what you currently have.

For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.
