Can the B&W Companion Ford OEM 5th Wheel Hitch Be Upgraded from 20K to 25K
Question:
I currently have the BWRVK3300 20K for my 2015 f350drw and absolutely love it. Looking to upgrade my 5’er to a 21,500 GVWR 5’er. Can I just upgrade the head unit to the RVC3306 to make it the 25k hitch or do I have to replace the whole unit??? Thanks in advance. I purchased the original from you guys. Etrailer is #1 in my book.

In order to upgrade the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch part # BWRVK3300 from 20,000 lbs to 25,000 lbs you will need to obtain the Replacement Base for B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # BWRVB3305 which would then be just like having the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch part # BWRVK3305.
The hitch head is the same between the 20,000 lb and 25,000 lb models, it is the base which is different and gives the latter the higher weight capacity.
