Placement of Pivot Arms for Long Bed Truck Using B&W Hitch BWRVK3300

Question:

Im getting ready to install a BW model 3300 that I just bought from you. I have a 2019 Ford F-350 Crew cab long bed with preinstalled mounting holes. Im going to be picking up our grand design momentum 351 toy hauler with this truck. Since I dont have the trailer here, what would be the best position for the pivot arm to start off with.

Since your 2019 F-350 is a long bed you'll be best off starting with the pivot arms of your B&W Hitch # BWRVK3300 installed in the positions that place the hitch head furthest forward, closest to the cab. To do this install the pivot arms with their straight side facing the cab as shown in the linked diagram. This will keep the kin pin (and pin weight) toward the leading edge of the rear axle for better weight distribution across both axles. After making some test turns you'll know if you need more clearance.

With an 8-foot-wide fifth wheel trailer a distance of 52-inches from the cab of the truck to the center of the fifth wheel jaws is the typical clearance recommendation.
