Tip to Fit TracRac SR Ladder Rack with Bak Flip Tonneau on 2018 Chevy Silverado
Question:
Hi I recently purchased and installed Thule SR track ladder rack Item # TH43003XT-785 to 2018 Chevy Silverado with Bakflip MX4 tonneau cover. Very happy with the purchase as ladder rack is very good quality and works very well. Outer rail doesn’t interfere with the tonneau cover folding but the inner rail does. I end up having to slide the rack in the inner rail to open and close the toner cover which is ok when the ladder rack is empty but obviously can’t be done when it’s loaded. Is there any concerns for installing both racks on the outer rail? Will it cause any weight distribution issues?

If you put both uprights on the same outer rail you'd put too much weight on the outside of the base rail of the rack which would in turn put to much stress on the outside of the bed rail. What if you put the rear upright on the outside track and the front upright on the inside track? This should give you better clearance to fold the cover up.
What's also interesting about this question is that for your 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500 the TracRac part number you listed # TH43003XT-785 is not the correct fit. Most likely you installed the part # TH43002XT-781 as that is correct for a 2018 Silverado 1500 6-1/2 ft bed.
Also the issue you described is why we normally recommend the BAK Revolver part # BAK39121 with the TracRac as it's the only one we know fits without interference folding up.
