Does the spring clamp the single strap around the leafs go towards the front or rear of the trailer?

The orientation of a double eye leaf spring such as the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring part # e54SR does not matter. Therefore, the clamp that holds the leaves together can be pointed either towards the tongue or the rear of the trailer.
