Can You Reverse With the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System
Question:
Hello. You guys just recommended the Equalizer WDH for me. But one big issue for me is I would like to be able to freely turn in reserve while backing up. Does the Equalizer with sway control limit my turning radius in reserve? Is there another WDH system without sway control that can allow me to turn more freely? And possibly anything that doesnt require drilling? If I do have to remove the WDH before reversing...can I just pop them off? Or do I need lift up the jack/hitch ball to take weight/pressure off the WDH arms before I remove them?

Generally speaking, all weight distribution systems whether they have sway control or not are going to restrict your ability to reverse the trailer at too sharp an angle. There are some systems that allow for more of an angle than others but the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System part # EQ37120ET is a good in between option. That said, if you do need to reverse at a sharp angle all you need to do is remove the L-pin from the frame brackets and then slide off the spring bar ends. The trailer does not need to be uncoupled in order to reverse at a sharp angle.
