Depending on the weight distribution system brand you may be able to switch the bars out to a lighter weight rated bar, however most manufacturers require the weight distribution head to be changed as well because the new bars may not fit. You want the bars to be rated for the loaded tongue weight of your trailer as well as any cargo behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. You want the loaded tongue weight of your trailer to fall somewhere between the tongue weight range that the bars are rated for. I recommend using a tongue weight scale like part # e99044 to determine you actual loaded tongue weight.
If you find our tongue weight is really too low for the 10K bars then please let me know what weight distribution system you have and I can look into how to replace the bars for lighter rated ones.
