It may be that nothing is wrong with your Prodigy P2 brake controller # 90885. The power-saving mode will come on and the screen will go blank but it does take 15 minutes. Additionally, any time there is any type of movement the timer resets - there is an internal sensor in the controller which detects movement so a P2 would never be blank up until the brake was activated. Depending on some variance, it should take just a little movement for the P2 to wake.
What I recommend is testing the controller; to do this sever the blue wire a couple inches from the back of your controller. Then use circuit tester # PTW2979 to test the end of the blue wire coming out of the controller. It should only have power when you apply the manual override; if it shows power at idle then there is an issue with the controller and it will need to be replaced.
