Can I Tow a Trailer with my 2017 Kia Forte EX
Question:
I have a 2017 kia forte ex. There is no towing capacity in my owners manual yet I was able to purchase and install a hitch. Any ideas as to how much weight we can safely tow? And yes I did contact my dealership. They were no help.

We do have the equipment to tow with your 2017 Kia Forte, which is primarily due to consumer demand rather than hard to find towing information. You are also correct that per the owner's manual (page 5-91) it states that Kia does not recommend using your vehicle for trailer towing. I can't recommend towing with this vehicle since the manufacturer says not to and we can't provide a towing vehicle weight capacity. I can provide the weight capacity of the # C11368 which is 200 pounds maximum tongue weight, 2,000 pounds maximum trailer weight.
If you do decide to pursue towing with your Forte, a hitch and wiring harness were made for this vehicle due to demand. I recommend using the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11368, Curt T-Connector # C53KR, and Drawbar # C45521 with Pin and Clip # F-4 and either 1-7/8" Hitch Ball # A-80 or 2" Hitch Ball # A-82. Again towing with this vehicle would be at your own risk and we recommend not exceeding the towing capacity of the hitch if you choose to go this route.
