The transmission cooler I recommend for your 2016 Dodge Durango with a 3.6L V6 engine is the Derale Series 8000 Transmission Cooler # D13503 because of how efficient the cooler is.

This is a plate-and-fin cooler, which means it uses smaller plates that cover more area than other coolers in order to agitate transmission fluid. Because you cannot over-cool fluids, the rule of thumb with transmission coolers is that size matters so the large 11" wide x 8-3/4" tall x 7/8" deep Series 8000 is going to give you great cooling efficiency.

You do need to ensure that you have enough room for this cooler to fit; if you take a look at the cut out of the linked installation manual you can see that there are a number of mounting locations possible. You do not need any extra hoses or adapters to install, however.

Adding a transmission cooler such as the Derale Series 8000 # D13503 is one of the best things you can do for your '16 Durango because towing is a stressor and additional cooling keeps temperatures down and helps prolong the lifespan of your transmission.

The other parts you will need to tow is a trailer hitch, wiring and ball mount. For that you will need the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75713, T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118617 (assuming you do not have the factory tow package), and Rapid Hitch Adjustable, Aluminum Ball Mount Kit w/ 2 Zinc Balls - 4" Drop or Rise Item # AM3462 which gives you up to 4" of rise or drop or # AM3411 which gives you up to 6-1/2” of rise or 5-1/2" drop. Both of these ball mounts can be adjusted in 1” increments to ensure you can tow level, and they come with a 1-7/8" hitch ball and 2" hitch ball to pair with your trailer's coupler.

I have added links to video reviews and installs for you to check out as well.
