When Installing 4-Way in 2017 Volkswagen Tiguan Can Hot Lead Wire be Run Through Cabin
Question:
I have a question about T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector item #118675. Ive watched the installation video but dont have access to a lift so running the wire underneath the vehicle to the battery would be a little difficult. I found a grommet on the firewall by the brake pedal. I want to run the wire through the left side of the cabin, tucking it under the trim panel at the carpet line. Is 7.5 amps enough current to cause any problems doing this? Thanks

Yes, you can absolutely run the hot lead of the Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118675 through the cabin of your 2017 VW Tiguan. You are certainly not alone in not having access to a lift and feeling that going underneath the vehicle can be a pain, so you can route it through your cabin, using Trim Pad Remover # ALL648544 to loosen the trim.
In fact, we have a help article about running a hot lead, and I added the section about routing the wire through your vehicle; I have also linked the help article for you to check out.
Doing this will allow you an easier way to add the wiring harness so you can tow with the hitch that fits your VW, the Curt # C13133.
