Short Bar WDH for A-Frame Trailer with Limited Frame Access
Question:
Hi, I followed up with the trailer manufacturer to clarify and was hoping to sort it out now. The EZLift WDH that I purchased won’t mount on my trailer tongue due to the short A frame on the V nose. I would like a WDH or system with sway control that can work with this trailer. The manufacturer says that the aluminum frame can support a WDH but could not recommend a model. It would have to have short bars or use a different set up then the chain/bar system. Are there any options for me? Photo of trailer with measurements attached. Thank you.

Thank you for your photo. For a trailer like yours with limited A-frame access for installing weight distribution lift brackets a good option is the Curt TruTrack system # C17500 because it uses smaller frame brackets that give you more flexibility for placing them on the frame. Since this trunnion bar system does not use bars that have chains (which must be vertical when installed) the TruTrack will give you the mounting wiggle room you need. Since the TruTrack does not rely on a simple friction bar for sway control, like the one on your EAZLift, you do not have to worry about the installation clearance for that either.
This system works over a tongue weight range of 800- to 1000-lbs. If you have not yet confirmed the loaded tongue weight (TW) of your trailer you can do so with Tongue Weight Scale # e99044. Any cargo weight that routinely sits behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle should be added to the measured TW.
