Does Converter Need to be Used to Match Truck Wiring to Trailer Wiring

if my truck is already equipped with a tow package which includes the 4 pin plug and the 7 pin do i still need to install a converter to have my trailer taillights do exactly what my truck lights do?

That all depends on if your trailer lights have the stop light circuit combined with the turn signals or not. If the stop light and turn signals are combined then you should be good to go but if they are separate you will need to install a converter like part # 118158 to separate the stop and turn signals and match your trailer.
