Availability of Latching Strap for Thule Atlantis 1600 XT Roof Cargo Box
Question:
There are six black plastic parts marked POM that are attached to the Atlantis 1600 xt cartop carrier. When closed, they insert into the lock housings and push the red dot down. Then the shaft can go through the circular hole and lock the top. What is this part called and how can we get three of them? Thank you.

I believe the piece on your Thule Atlantis 1600 XT (discontinued part 686XT back in 2012) is the part pointed out in the attached photo. If this is the case then unfortunately Thule doesn't have this available as a replacement part and if these are broken you will need to look into getting a new box or trying to locate them at a used parts dealer. I confirmed this with my contact at Thule.
For a replacement box I recommend the Thule Force XT # TH6357B because it is almost identical in size and how it clamps around the crossbars. I really like this box because of the black aeroskin that looks a lot like a matte black finish. I have attached a review video of this box for you to check out.
Please note that the Force XT looks like it uses a similar part as what you are looking for but when I asked my contact at Thule if that is available as a replacement part she said it isn't offered either.
