I was not able to find the owner's manual for the 2007 VW Beetle but from my research it looks like it can be flat towed with all 4 wheels on the ground if it has a manual transmission. You would want to check your owner's manual to be sure that your particular vehicle can be flat towed behind a RV.

If your 2007 VW Beetle is an automatic transmission then it needs to be towed with a tow dolly like the Roadmaster Tow Dolly with Electric Brakes - 4,250 lbs # RM-2050-1.

If your Beetle is a manual transmission, I recommend Demco Classic Base Plate Kit part # DM9518071 because the install is a bit easier compared to the other options and the base plate is more versatile because it can be adapted to fit other brand's tow bars.

The tow bar I recommend is Demco Excali-Bar II Non-Binding Tow Bar part # DM9511009. The Excali-bar is nice because there are trigger releases on each arm that allows you to release the vehicle on uneven ground compared to the other tow bars that may bind when released on uneven ground.

The wiring you need is Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit part # RM-15267 to wire your vehicle to accept the RV'S tail, brake and turn signals.

Almost all states require a flat tow vehicle to be equipped with a supplemental braking systems so the vehicle's brakes stop the vehicle when the RV stops. I recommend Stay-IN-Play DUO part # SM99251 because of its convenience once it is installed. The RV sends a signal to the main unit that installs under the hood which sends a signal to a small cylinder attached near the brake pedal that presses it when the RV brakes. It is more of a permanent stress free solution because once it is installed, there is not a need to keep removing a bulky braking system from the floorboard like with other removable braking systems.

You will most likely need a high low adapter to tow the vehicle level behind the RV. You want to measure from the top of the hitch receiver on the RV to the ground and then from the center of where the base plate installs on the Beetle to the ground. The difference between those two numbers is the rise or drop you need. I have attached our selection of high low adapters available.
