Can the Reese M5 Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Be Used With the Chevy Factory Puck System

Question:

I have ordered a 2020 Chev 3500 Silverado with the 5th wheel prep package. I have a Reese 20K hitch in a 2015 Silverado and I am going from an 8foot to an 8foot box but it was dealer installed. Will that Reese fit in the factory prep pucks or am I looking at a new hitch?

I do have an option for you but the Reese M5 Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # RP30921 does not fit the same pucks in your 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. There is not an adapter for this either so your only option would be to sell it to recoup some of your money and then obtain a new 5th wheel hitch. For this, I recommend the Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # RP30895 because it will not only fit directly into the pucks but it will also provide you with the most weight capacity (27,000 lbs) of any 5th wheel trailer hitch for your truck so you won't be limited in this regard.

I just purchased a Reese Elite RE 18k for my 2020 Ford F250 6 3/4 bed . I have a Landmark 39 ft Oshkosh . I understand this is not a slide hitch - The nose is contoured and should work. There is not a Puck system installed by ford. What under bed rail system do i need- and will this hitch work with this Truck and RV. I know most people recommend a slider , with the nose radius this should work

To mount the Reese Elite Hitch to your 2020 Ford F-250 you'll need the Install Kit # RP30886. With a tapered nose on the trailer you'll probably be fine without a sliding hitch. What I would do though once you have everything hooked up is take the trailer out to an empty parking lot with a buddy and just test your cab clearances when making sharper maneuvers. Have your friend stand outside and yell loudly if the nose creeps up to the cab window.
