For a 13 inch wheel and tire combo, the tire sizes would either be ST175/80-13 or ST185/80-13. The 175/80-13 measures 24.02 inches in diameter, while the 185/80-13 measures 24.65 inches in diameter. This is considerably larger than the 4.8-12 wheel and tire that has a 20.5 inch diameter. The wheels on these combos are typically 4-1/2 inches wide, with the alloy wheels being 5 inches wide.

If your boat trailer can accommodate the larger diameter and width without having any clearance problems with fenders, you can certainly upgrade to a larger diameter wheel.

If you click on the provided link, you can see our selection of wheel and tire combos that have a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. The tires are available in various load ranges, but keep in mind that a tire with a higher load rating will NOT increase the capacity of the trailer. For better ride quality and heat dissipation, I would recommend a radial tire. The # AM31994 that you referenced would be a good choice if it provides proper clearance for you.
