Aluminum Wheel/Tire Combo Recommendation for Higher Capacity than Load Range C 14 inch Wheel/Tire

Question:

I currently have a steel wheel with 215/75/14, load rated C, Goodyear Marathonson a dual axle trailer with approximately 8000 lbs, trailer and boat. I want to use this load rated D tire, but i really want a better looking aluminum wheel. I need the capacity of the D tire, as the C tires were overloaded from the factory. I realize this is a combo deal, D tire on a galvanized wheel. Can you recommend this D tire and an aluminum wheel that i can order separately and mount/ balance myself? Or is this tire and the weight i am carrying too much for the aluminum wheels? I want a sportier, better looking wheel, but do not want to jeopardize safety. I already have an issue now with the Goodyear tires being overloaded.

The best option we are going to have that will give you the higher weight capacities on a nicer looking aluminum wheel is going to be for you to move to a 15 inch wheel and tire combo like the part # AM39053. This has the same 5 bolt pattern and a tire size of ST205/75R15. The weight capacity of this is 2,150 lbs at 65 psi which is right at what the Load Range D 14 inch tire setup you want has.

The aluminum wheels do have lower capacities which is why you have to go with the larger wheel size to allow you additional capacity that comes with the bigger size. The diameter of this tire is 27.3 inches and has a section width of 8.1 inches which is very similar to the size you have.
