Bike Carrier with Loading Ramp for Heavy Electric Bikes
Question:
Hi: We are looking for an inexpensive bike rack for two E bikes that would also accommodate a ramp so that we do not have to lift the bikes. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you.

Helpful Expert Reply:
Thule makes a superb specialty hitch-mount bike carrier designed for heavier electric bikes and it does include a loading ramp as well as many other user-friendly features that make it the rack to beat for anyone with heavy electric bikes up to 65-lbs each. However, this wonderful EasyFold platform carrier # TH903202 is a premium product with a price to match. You can see all the features on this rack in the linked video. There is no better hitch carrier for electric bikes.
The Thule T2 Pro XTR # TH969XT that you referenced is also capable of handling bikes up to 60-lbs but it does not have a ramp.
We do have lower-priced e-bike carriers and these others will have varying weight capacities so you'll want to confirm the weight of your two bikes to ensure you select a hitch rack that will safely handle their weights. Bike features such as fenders or an unusual frame design may also make one rack a better choice than another. E-bikes with fenders will be best carried on a frame-mount rack like the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider # HLY84FR. We also have a wheel-mount bike rack that will work with or without fenders and won't harm the frame, the Lets Go Aero V-Lectric FAT PRO # LGA77FR,
Please feel free to tell me about your specific bikes and your vehicle and I will be glad to offer options tailored to your needs.
