Best Trailer Hitch To Use A Bike Rack On A 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Buying a hitch for my 2015 Grand Cherokee and a bike rack. So many to choose from that I am not sure which way to go. From watching your videos on youtube, great job on these videos, I have learned a ton, but still not sold on which one to get. Right now I am looking at the C13182 hitch, with the TH9029XT. We want a four bike rack, and like the tilt action. We also have a cargo deck, so from you video, the C13182 looks to be the best. The TH9029XT from the video is not on your website, so I want to check and see if I am looking for the right part, or which direction you suggest I go for this. It is not a diesel. So guess it is the other

I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame part # 75699 for the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee because it is the best option for accessories like bike racks and cargo carriers. The Draw-Tite offers a 1/4" more ground clearance then the other options when carrying a bike rack. It also provides 1/2" more bumper clearance which helps to prevent a fold up accessory (like a cargo carrier) from rubbing the bumper's paint. The Draw-Tite features a concealed cross tube design that provides a cleaner look. The receiver tube portion of the hitch is the only part of the hitch that is visible on the Jeep once it is installed compared to the Curt where the cross tube is visible.

The Thule Vertex 4 Bike rack part TH9029XT that you mention is no longer available. I recommend the Thule Apex XT part # TH9025XT instead. According to Thule the Apex is the closest option to the Vertex. The Apex is a 4 bike rack that tilts-away for complete cargo area access on the Jeep Grand Cherokee like shown in the video that I have attached. It is also designed with a upper latch that allows you to fold the arms down when the rack is not in use. The Apex comes with the integrated lock to lock your bikes to the rack and hitch pin lock to lock your rack to the Jeep.

If you are looking for a more cost effective alternative to the Apex, the Thule Hitching Post Pro part # TH934XTR is the way to go. It has the same tilting feature that allows complete access to the Jeep Grand Cherokee's cargo area. It also has the same folding arm feature as the Apex.The biggest difference is the locks are not integrated into the bike rack so you would have to purchase the Thule Snug Tite Hitch Lock part # THSTL2 and Cable Lock part # TH538XT separately.
