Recommended Tray Style Bike Rack for a 2 inch Trailer Hitch and Fat Tires Bikes
Question:
Been looking at a number of 2 hitch tray style rack for fat bikes, but need one to accommodate 4.6 - 4.8 inch tires. Looking at the Curt 18085, Hollywood....any other suggestions. Thanks,

Out of the Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack # C18085-FB and the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE # HLY84FR I highly recommend the Hollywood Racks because it is compatible with up to 5" wide tires (instead of 4-7/8") and has a weight capacity of 80 lbs per bike over the 45 lbs per bike the Curt has to offer. The Sport Rider SE2 also comes with both bike and rack locks as well as a limited lifetime warranty where the Curt only comes with bike locks and a 1-year limited warranty.
One thing to note is that both of these bike rack options secure the bikes by their top tube. If either of your bikes has a sensitive frame (like carbon fiber) then this can actually hurt your bike. In this case I recommend the Thule T2 Classic # TH69TX which secures bikes by their wheels, is compatible with up to 5" wide tires, and has a weight capacity of 60 lbs per bike. It can be set up as a 2-bike rack or a 4-bike rack as needed. This comes with a rack lock and bike locks. The 2-bike version of the Thule Pro XTR is # TH83JV.
I have attached review videos for each of these bike racks for you to reference as well.
