Needing Receiver Adapter to Lower Cargo Carrier by 7 Inches
Question:
I have an aluminum carrier. The coupling is the same as any 2 receiver. I want to the hitch down about 7, but there isnt any adaptor that has a down with a square coupling to accept my carrier. I need to come from my hitch and pin a part to it that comes out, and down to where I can put my carrier to it. Out from my hitch, down to about 7, then out again. Ive searched everywhere, and cant find such an animal. Can you help me?

So you are looking for an adapter that would lower the 2 inch receiver so that the aluminum cargo carrier can be lowered by 7 inches, is that correct?
We carry some Hi-Lo adapters, but they are only for flat towing a vehicle and are not intended to have any weight applied to them. The only item I have that might work for you would be the Curt Multi-Purpose ball mount, part # D210. When this is used in the drop position, it would lower your cargo carrier by 6-3/4 inches. Keep in mind that the receiver on the ball mount has a 350 lb tongue weight capacity. This means that the cargo carrier and what is placed upon it cannot weigh more than 350 lbs. The receiver on the ball mount CANNOT be used for towing.
