Blind Spot Mirror Placement

Blind spot mirrors may be placed anywhere you wish, but they are typically located on the bottom outside corner of a vehicle's side-view mirror. The desired placement varies from one person to the next.

You can try out different placements by putting a piece of folded tape on the back of the blind spot mirror and sticking it onto your side-view mirror where you think you might want it. Then sit in your car or truck and check to see if the mirror is reflecting the area you'd like to see. Keep adjusting the placement until it suits your needs.

When you have the mirror where you want it, peel off the backing and stick it on permanently.

Video Transcript for K-Source Round Convex Blind Spot Mirror Review

Hey there, haulers. Today we're going to be taking a look at K-source's convex blind spot mirrors. These are available in either a two or three inch diameter, and they can be purchased as either a set of one or a set of two, so you can have one for each side. Before we show off our mirrors, we're going to go ahead and get a baseline with our truck here that has factory blind spot mirrors on them. It's got that lower convex mirror there, that's going to be similar to the blind spot convex mirrors that we're going to be adding to our older truck over there. So here I can clearly be seen in our factory mirror, both the straight one on top as well as our blind spot down on bottom that has the convex mirror.

But as I take a step towards the outside, I'm no longer visible in our regular mirror, but I can still be seen in our lower blind spot mirror due to that convex shape. So now that you've seen what our factory mirrors look like, we're going to go ahead and install one of our blind spot mirrors on our older truck. And you're going to be able to compare to see that with these little mirrors you're going to get the same functionality. So here you can see our smaller truck that didn't have anything but its factory mirror on it. We went ahead and added our blind spot mirror, which is adjustable, fully 360. Now, obviously it's not as large as the factory one on our other truck, but as I take a step to the outside, you're still going to get those benefits.

I can't be seen in the factory mirror, but I still can be seen in the blind spot mirror that we just added. I also really like it for backing up if I've got to get in any tight spots where I really need to get the trailer angled really hard. Because in our factory mirror, I lose sight of the back of my trailer, but I can still see it in the blind spot mirror here.So as you can see here, I was able to easily and confidently get my trailer parked into a nice tight spot here right next to our truck. And you really couldn't have gotten any closer than this without a nice mirror to help you guide yourself in. I've also found them quite useful when hauling a 30 or 40 foot camper.

It's great for your RVs as well. They're extremely long to increase your viewing angle there. And I also find it great for your regular vehicles that just have some blind spots that really bother you. You can throw those in and eliminate those blind spots. Adding a blind spot mirror to your vehicle is going to help increase your visibility.

And it's particularly useful when you're hauling any equipment behind you, because when you go to use your regular mirror, as you make some turns, your trailer can be blocking your view beside you, maybe you're trying to change lanes and your trailer's blocking that view. With our convex mirror here, we get a wider viewing angle due to the convex shape, which allows us to see much more around us. So we can be aware of our surroundings whenever we need to maneuver or change lanes. And one of the things I like about this one compared to most of the ones you probably saw in your parents' cars growing up, we're the ones that just stick on there, well this one is a fully adjustable 360 degrees. So you can ensure that you're going to be able to see what you need to see. And it's really nice if you have some buddies that go with you, or anybody else that is maybe going to take over the driver's seat, you're going on a long trip, you're switching back and forth, you can easily adjust for one person and then the next person can adjust for them so they can have the best viewing angles. So you can eliminate any blind spots and reach your destination safely. Now, one thing to keep in mind with the convex mirror, it gives you a much wider viewing angle, but objects in the mirror can be closer than they appear. Now, before you pull off the backing and stick it onto your mirror, I highly recommend you just hold it up there. Maybe get an assistant to help hold it up in a place while you sit at your normal sitting angle in your vehicle, so you can find the best angle. Because you can rotate them and put them in all the different ways that works best for you. The installation couldn't be any simpler. It has an adhesive pad here on the back that comes included with it. You'll simply want to remove the adhesive backing and then stick it in place on your mirror. I highly recommend that you clean your mirror to ensure that you get good adhesion to it. And that completes our look at K source's convex blind spot mirrors.

See what our Experts say about this K Source Blind Spot Mirror

  • Blind Spot Mirrors and Monitoring for a 2012 Honda Pilot
K-Source blind sport mirrors # KSCW2000 are custom fit for 2004 to 2008 Ford F-150 trucks but will not fit your 2012 Honda Pilot. What I recommend is # KSC0400 which you can stick to the glass on the factory side mirrors. There aren't any custom options for your Pilot. Another option is a blind spot monitoring system # RVS-BES02. It has sensors that will detect vehicles in the blind spot and alert you (with lights that get mounted inside the vehicle).

  • Recommended Blind Spot Mirrors For 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo
It really depends on your preferences. I have small blind spot mirrors on my vehicle and like them. If you are looking for a smaller replacement, I recommend the K-Source Blind Spot Mirrors - Convex - Stick On - 2" Round - Adjustable - Qty 2 # KSC0400. These allow you to see what is in that blind spot without taking up too much visibility in the rest of your side mirror. If you want something that doesn't take up any of the side mirror, we get positive reviews of the CIPA Top Mounted...

  • How to Remove Blind Spot Mirrors
Stick-on mirrors like the part # KSC0400 that you referenced use adhesive to attach to the mirror. To get them to remove from your mirrors you can use a length of high test fishing line to run behind mirror and then slowly work the fishing line back and forth while putting pressure on the adhesive to get it to separate from the mirror face. There might be some adhesive left on the mirrors once removed so you would need some adhesive remover like Goof-Off to easily remove it.
