Roof Rack for 2016 Toyota Avalon to Carry Thule Hullavator Assisted Kayak Carrier
Question:
My 2016 Toyota Avalon hybrid has a naked roof with sunroof. Id like to install a rack to carry an old and very heavy tandem kayak. Can I use the Hullavator? If not, can you recommend a rack system? I already have the J kayak holders they are Sportcraft brand but they look like theyd fit on any rack.

If your tandem kayak weighs less than 75 lbs and is less than 36 inches in width it can be carried on the Thule Hullavator part # TH898 that you referenced. You will need to add a roof rack to your 2016 Toyota Avalon with a naked roof to allow the carrier to mount. For that I recommend the Rhino Rack part numbers # RRVA126B-2, # RRRLKVA, and # DK361 because this rack has aero shaped bars which minimize wind noise, is very easy to install, and has top channels which makes installing the Hullavator very easy.
