How To Install a Brake Controller On a 1995 Dodge Ram 2500 Without Plug

Question:

I’m looking to hook up a brake/trailer lights controller and I do not have the connector under the dash. I have a wire that is specifically for trailer B+ but I don’t know how to wire it from there.

If you do not have the factory brake controller plug on your 1995 Dodge Ram 2500 then you will need to hardwire a brake controller to the vehicle. I recommend the Hopkins Agility Trailer Brake Controller part # HM47295 because it has multiple sensitivity levels so you can fine tune your braking and it also comes with a lifetime warranty.

The B+ wire that you referenced is most likely for 12 volt power and will need to be attached to the black wire. The red wire will need to be attached to the cold side of the brake pedal or the wire that only has power while the brake pedal is depressed. The white wire is for the ground and will need to be hooked up to the negative battery terminal and the blue wire is for brake output and will need to be run to the 7-way. For the brake output wire you can use part # 10-1-1 and for the ground and stop light switch wire you can use part # 12-1-1.

I have attached a help article for you as well on the above.
