High/Low Hitch Adapter to Keep Nighthawk Tow Bar RM-677 Level for Best Operation

Question:

Im using a Roadmaster Nighthawk and a Roadmaster baseplate on my Jeep. Officially they say 3 inches above or below is safe zoneinch for height differential between the coach and the toad. Ill be at about 3.25 inches. Just a quarter inch outside their recommended. I read just now that specs are often coach can be 3inch above level to 4inch below meaning if coach is below you have a little more variance before trouble. So my coach will be below the toad by 3.25 - well within 4. I really dont want to add a hitch /rise. Now tell me what to do : And if you say I really should use a hitch rise, Im thinking of the Roadmaster 072. My only concern is it adds 10.25 in LENGTH outward from the coach so the toad is that much further behind the coach... Thanks!

Roadmaster does specify the 3-inch safe zone for tow bar height differences at the motorhome and toad ends.

Really any tow bar will perform better when it is level since there will be less arm tube friction. A level tow bar will also endure less mechanical stress and it will put less stress on the base plates, the towed vehicle's frame and its suspension.

Since you have invested in the Nighthawk # RM-677, one of the best tow bars available, I recommend you protect your investment and ensure top performance by using the high/low adapter # RM-072-2. The extra length in the tow bar setup from using the adapter will not negatively affect performance.
