Recommended Sway Control System for a 7,000 Lb Tandem Axle Boat Trailer
Question:
What do you recommend that I use for a boat trailer, double axle with surge brakes, to aide in reducing sway??? Approximate wt. of boat and trailer is appr. 7000 lbs. Thank you

For your boat trailer which I assume has a straight pole tongue, I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System part # EQ37100ET with the Pole-Tongue Adapter for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems part # EQ95-01-5950. If you don't have a straight pole tongue then you just won't use the Pole-Tongue Adapter.
The Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System is largely considered to be one of the best weight distribution systems on the market due to its four point sway control. This particular system has a tongue weight range of 600 lbs - 1,000 lbs so it should be perfect for you. There are not really many other systems available that do more for trailer sway than the Equal-i-zer so if that is your main concern then this is what you will want to use.
The Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System uses friction style frame brackets so there will not be an issue with your surge brakes. This system comes with a lifetime warranty and is made in the USA.
