The Jeeps are not pre-wired for brake controllers. The wires need to be run from the back of the Jeep (where the 7-way connector is) to the front and connected to the brake controller and the battery. Since your Jeep already has the 7-way in the rear who ever installed that may have run those extra wires up to the front. You will need to climb under the Jeep and follow the wires coming out of the 7-way plug. If the wires have already been run to the front you really will not need anything besides the brake controller. If the wires have not been run up to the front you will need to purchase a length of wire part # 5506 to do so.
Our all-time best selling brake controller is the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, part # 90885. This inertia activated controller provides the most value for the price. It is easy to mount to your dash and provides a digital display.
