Fascia Trimming Required to Install Curt Class I Part # C11120 on 2011 Subaru Impreza
Question:
the instructions mention Minor fascia trimming required for hitch installation Can you elaborate?
asked by: Robert
Expert Reply:
The lower bumper fascia would need to be trimmed approximately 1-5/8 inches by 4 inches.
You can get a better idea of the necessary trimming by checking the install instructions, and looking at the photo I produced for you.
Remember the old woodworkers adage: Measure twice, cut once.
If you were planning on using the receiver as a mounting point for a bike rack or cargo carrier, be aware that Curt requires the use of a stabilizing strap like part # 18050. Failure to use a stabilizing strap will void the hitch warranty.
If you were planning on using the receiver for towing, you might also need the following:
Trailer wiring harness, part # C56111 for hatchback models, or # 56061 for non-STi sedan models
1-7/8 inch trailer ball, part # A-80
2 inch trailer ball, part # A-82
